The Chapter also accepts student projects. These should be submitted to the relevant category, and applicants must specify if students worked on the project. Student projects are not judged alongside professional projects but are recognized alongside them in the same category.
"For more than a decade, the New York Upstate Chapter has honored planning achievements through the Professional Awards Program, offering us the chance to learn about the outstanding work of our colleagues and communities across the state," said Sarah Gatti, Chapter Vice President and Chair of the Chapter Awards Committee. "We look forward to once again celebrating the best in planning from Upstate New York and continuing to highlight the vital role we play in building strong, thriving communities for everyone."
Applications can be submitted from April 7 - June 27, 2025.
Awardees will be honored at the New York Upstate Chapter Conference and are strongly encouraged to attend.

CDTA is looking for a creative and technical Senior Planner to shape the future of our transit infrastructure. In this role, you will lead the design and planning of major capital projects, including mid-sized infrastructure, Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), and mobility hubs, while contributing to other critical Planning Department initiatives. You will work at the intersection of urban design, engineering, and operations to create safe, accessible, and efficient transit environments.
