Conference Updates: Announcing Our Keynote Speaker: Jocelyn Poe, PhD, AICP!
/Jocelyn Poe, PhD, AICP is a Provost New Faculty Fellow and Assistant Professor in the Department of City and Regional Planning at Cornell University.
She comes to academia after five years working as a Senior Planner with Duvall Decker Architects, PA of Jackson, Mississippi where she worked in community and economic development, cultural preservation, and community health with particular attention to designing and facilitating community engagement process and programs. Inspired by her experiences as a practicing planner, Professor Poe uses interdisciplinary and creative methods for theorizing planning practice and engaging communities and addressing critical issues of justice and equity which shapes our cities and are deeply relevant to our profession and communities here in Upstate New York.
Jocelyn Poe received her Ph.D. in Urban Planning and Development from the University of Southern California, her Masters of Community Planning from Auburn University, and her Bachelor of Architecture, Summa Cum Laude from Tuskegee University.
