RFP: Seneca County Comprehensive Housing Strategy
/Seneca County calls for qualified consultants to submit proposals for development of a Comprehensive Housing Strategy (the Strategy) for Seneca County. Project management will be administered by the Seneca County Department of Planning & Community Development on behalf of the Seneca County Board of Supervisors.
Seneca County in pursuing a contextually appropriate, comprehensive, outcomes focused, and implementable housing strategy is seeking to address these trends and challenges to the benefit of its residents, its local governments, and local businesses. The County and its partners, recognizing the changes in the national economy and its own abundant natural resources of good soil, clean water, and open land are continuing to pursue the growth of the tourism and agriculture industry. To do this successfully, there must be housing opportunities at all income levels to provide the community stability required to attract investment as well as create the conditions for residents to build their own small businesses. There are potentially transformative projects within the County and the region that the County intends to take advantage of including the local redevelopment of the Willard State Asylum Campus and the Micron investment in nearby Central New York. Housing is foundational to strong communities and good local governance on which executing any economic development project in the 21st century is dependent.
