This webinar will several presentations and significant time for questions and feedback about good techniques for preparing recovery plans in communities struck by disasters.  Examples will include Cedar Rapids, IA, and communities in the path of Hurricane Sandy.  Idea sharing will pertain to coordination of federal grants, concerns about working with state governments, and blending growth management into recovery.  Often the challenges facing a city or county after a disaster is figuring out how to organize departments and agencies into reasonable working groups that are suited to a disaster.  Online for the webinar will be planners experienced with handling these extra burdens at a time when building permit activities and design reviews are on the rise.  This webinar will attempt to answer the question: "What's an appropriate role of the planning department in preparing a recovery plan?"  ....and what resources can be tapped for extra help?
