RFP: BOA Plan for the Town of Poughkeepsie

Request for Proposals (RFP) for a consultant to work with the Town of Poughkeepsie to prepare a Brownfield Opportunity Area (BOA) Plan, in accordance with the requirements of the Town’s contract with New York State. Through this BOA study, the Town of Poughkeepsie intends to develop a community vision for an approximately 144-acre area characterized by suspected brownfields, underutilized land areas, and vacant sites that are located along Burnett Boulevard and Tucker Drive in the Route 44 (Dutchess Turnpike) corridor. Challenges to be addressed include historic land uses and the leaching of hazardous materials from the former, uncapped landfill. Given the study area’s centralized location in the community, the Town believes the full remediation and redevelopment of this suspected brownfield would offer numerous opportunities for economic, environmental, and recreational development in the area.
