RFP: Economic Impact Study of the Empire State Trail
/Parks & Trails New York (PTNY), a statewide nonprofit advocacy organization, invites proposals from qualified firms, nonprofit organizations and institutions of higher learning to develop and conduct a comprehensive economic impact study of the Empire State Trail (EST).
The selected consultant will develop a report that captures the trailโs economic contributions to New York State and the communities it traverses, drawing from a robust set of data sources across multiple sectors, including tourism, public health, small business development, construction, housing, and transportation. The report will highlight the economic impact of each of the component parts of the Empire State Trail, including the Erie Canalway Trail, Champlain Canalway Trail, and Hudson River Valley Greenway.
Any parties interested in submitting a response should indicate their intent via email to Dylan Carey, PTNY Director of Policy and Planning at dcarey@ptny.org by June 20, 2025. Such email will not be a full submission but rather will ensure that interested parties receive the answers to any questions submitted regarding clarification of the RFP. Questions regarding clarification of the RFP must be submitted by email to Dylan Carey, PTNY Director of Policy and Planning on or before July 1, 2025. PTNYโs response(s) will be provided to all parties who have indicated their intent to apply. Proposals received after 5:00 p.m. on July 21, 2025, will not be considered.

The Orange County, New York, Department of Planning is seeking to fill one of two Deputy Commissioner positions. The new Deputy will either handle oversight of the Transportation and Transit Units or the Land Use and Environmental Units. Applicants for either position should have supervisory experience including budgeting and fiscal management as well as human resource management. Work is performed under the supervision of the Commissioner of Planning/MPO Director with latitude allowed for the exercise of independent judgment in carrying out planning activities. Supervision is exercised over subordinate professional, technical and clerical personnel. Related work is performed as required.
