Job Opening: Senior Planner for Steuben County
/SENIOR PLANNER
This position is located at the Steuben County Department of Planning.
The work involves responsibility for the performance of moderately difficult, complex, technical duties in the field of municipal, regional or community planning at either the County Planning Department or the Regional Planning and Development Board. The work is carried out in accordance with well-established and accepted modern professional planning techniques and procedures and involves the provision of professional planning support in all program areas of the department/agency; assumption of major project planner status for selected programs and tasks in line with the incumbent’s areas of special expertise/interests; coordination of activities with related work being done by other agencies in the area; and the compilation of a wide variety of statistics and data related to the work being done as well as the preparation of reports. This class differs from that of Planner by virtue of the increased level of responsibility and independence of action exercised.
CDTA is looking for a creative and technical Senior Planner to shape the future of our transit infrastructure. In this role, you will lead the design and planning of major capital projects, including mid-sized infrastructure, Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), and mobility hubs, while contributing to other critical Planning Department initiatives. You will work at the intersection of urban design, engineering, and operations to create safe, accessible, and efficient transit environments.
