RFP: Development of a Local Waterfront Revitalization Program for Town of Henderson, New York
/The Town of Henderson is pleased to announce a grant-funded opportunity for technical and professional services to assist in the development of a Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP). This project represents a transformative effort to shape the future of Henderson's Lake Ontario waterfront, focusing on community vitality, environmental stewardship, and long-term resilience.
This initiative builds directly upon the Town's recently completed Comprehensive Land Use Plan update, which was developed with the assistance of the Jefferson County Department of Planning and Community Development. We are excited about this next step in Henderson’s journey as we translate the Comprehensive Plan's vision into a focused framework for its waterfront revitalization area. Jefferson County will continue its partnership with the Town throughout this process, serving as the project manager and primary day-to-day coordinator for administering the grant. The selected contractor will work closely with both the Town and the County to ensure all technical analyses and draft documents align with State requirements and community expectations.

The proposed consultant budget shall not exceed $120,000.

The St. Lawrence County Planning Office is seeking an entry level Planner to join a group of other professionals working in the largest County, by area, in the State. The successful candidate will have strong communication and writing skills and be familiar with GIS. Work will be varied but responsibilities include collecting and analyzing data, preparing graphic materials, assisting with community planning projects and programs, and staffing various advisory boards such as the County Planning Board, Environmental Management Council, Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board and Fair Housing Taskforce. The work is closely reviewed and is performed under direct supervision of a higher level Planner or the Director of Planning, but incumbents are allowed to work under more general supervision as they increase in professional competence.
