RFP: Village of Moravia
/The Village of Moravia has received a grant from the New York State Department of State as part of their New York Forward award, to implement improvements to multiple public facilities including Ethel Fuller Park and 875 feet of streetscape along Cayuga and Main Street. Component 1 of the project involves the improvement of the Main/Cayuga Street streetscape to support local businesses and pedestrian activity. Component 2 of the project proposes the redesign of Ethel Fuller Park to improve safety and better serve community needs. The 3rd component of the project involves day-to-day grant administration to ensure efficient implementation of the first 2 components.
The Village of Moravia is seeking consultant services to assist in design, construction, project management, permitting, and grant administration tasks. More details on the types of services requested is provided below:
1. Prepare conceptual designs and supporting materials for proposed public improvements
2. Prepare final design and construction documents for proposed public improvements
3. Obtain necessary permits or approvals, including preparing SEQRA documentation, prior to construction
4. Complete construction work for proposed public improvements, per final design and construction documents
5. Prepare necessary paperwork to comply with NYS MWBE reporting requirements
6. Submit periodic project status reports to NYS DOS staff
7. Participate in regular project status meetings with Village staff and NYS DOS staff
A total of $1,307,000.00 has been allocated for all three components of this project, which is the total amount the Village has available for contractual design, construction, and administrative services, including the scope of services outlined in this RFP.
The St. Lawrence County Planning Office is seeking an entry level Planner to join a group of other professionals working in the largest County, by area, in the State. The successful candidate will have strong communication and writing skills and be familiar with GIS. Work will be varied but responsibilities include collecting and analyzing data, preparing graphic materials, assisting with community planning projects and programs, and staffing various advisory boards such as the County Planning Board, Environmental Management Council, Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board and Fair Housing Taskforce. The work is closely reviewed and is performed under direct supervision of a higher level Planner or the Director of Planning, but incumbents are allowed to work under more general supervision as they increase in professional competence.
