RFQ: Oneida County Comprehensive Plan

Oneida County is seeking quotes from qualified parties to develop a countywide comprehensive land use plan for the next 10 years. The plan will identify and build upon pre-existing planning initiatives and highlight strategies for development, conservation, and efficient use of land in alignment with Smart Growth principles. The comprehensive plan will address, but not be limited to, the following topics:
Topic Areas
Land use
Transportation
Agriculture
Natural environment and water resources
Energy and communications infrastructure
Housing and economic development
Education, health, and community services
Cultural resources, historic assets, and recreation
The comprehensive plan will assess existing land use assets and constraints. The planning process will include a review of regional demographics, existing plans, resources, policies, organizations, initiatives, and trends. Plan development will include a minimum of two public outreach events. The study will result in countywide land use strategies including recommendations, action items, and roadmaps to implementation for the next 10 years. See the full RFQ Here.
Orange County, New York, Department of Planning is accepting applications for the position of Principal Planner. This position is currently in the NYS HELPS program and is not subject to Civil Service Examination. This supervisory position is responsible for specialized professional and technical work related to municipal, community, county, and regional transportation planning, especially as it relates to the federally mandated allocation of federal transportation and capital funds under the auspices of the Orange County Transportation Council, which is the Metropolitan Planning Organization for Orange County (MPO).
