Job Opening: Water Quality Program Coordinator, Southern Tier 8 Regional Board

Seeking a talented individual to fill the “Coolest Job in the Southern Tier”  

Seeking Water Quality Program Coordinator to join the team at Southern Tier 8 Regional Board, to assist the 15 municipalities in the Broome Tioga Stormwater Coalition to meet EPA & DEC stormwater regulations.

This position requires experience with current ESRI ArcGIS desktop software, and UAV experience (or interest) is also preferred. This position is a blend of fieldwork, spatial database development, project management and grant administration.

The Coordinator will work directly with the Southern Tier 8 team staff, dedicated Municipal Highway Superintendents, Professional Engineers and County Planning teams in the urban core of Broome and Tioga Counties http://www.broometiogastormwater.com/ . The position will also include time promoting educational programs with the Coalition’s public outreach waterfromrain campaign, see http://www.waterfromrain.org/

As a model program for shared services and reduced costs for each of the 15 municipalities, the Coordinator will be working with each municipality to meet stormwater regulations by facilitating DEC’s Minimum Control Measures for Public Outreach, Participation and Good Housekeeping programs https://www.dec.ny.gov/chemical/8695.html and develop a regional stormwater infrastructure map to meet upcoming state regulations.

The position is 37.5 hours per week, included with the NYS retirement system & civil service system and salary compensation is commensurate with experience.
