Southern Tier Central Regional Planning and Development Board is seeking applicants for a fulltime position as Clean Energy Coordinator to carry out tasks related to the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority’s (NYSERDA) Clean Energy Communities program. Duties will primarily include conducting outreach and delivering technical assistance services and guidance to communities interested in pursuing clean energy planning and projects specific to the Clean Energy Communities program.
The Clean Energy Coordinator will work with the staff of Southern Tier Central Regional Planning and Development Board to integrate the NYSERDA-required activities into the agency’s ongoing planning efforts, including writing and revision of zoning laws and comprehensive plans; work with other agencies and not for profit groups whose work relates to the activities required by NYSERDA; evaluate alternative energy programs and companies interested in working within the region; plan, facilitate, and present information at public meetings; prepare a wide variety of professional documents. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Should be knowledgeable about clean energy, climate action planning, NYS local government operations, and NYSERDA programs. The position will require travel and include evening meetings.
