Senior Transportation Professional / Project Manager, Ecology and Environment, Inc.

Ecology and Environment, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Transportation Professional / Project Manager in one of the following locations: Boulder, CO; Buffalo, NY; or Chicago, IL. This position is responsible for management and pursuit of transportation projects. Our successful candidate will have a good understanding of the NEPA process (particularly for the FHWA/FTA), including experience managing EIS and EA projects.
Responsibilities:
• Manage a variety of environmental and planning projects for quality, budget, and schedule adherence with particular emphasis on transportation and other linear projects
• Write and review permit applications and documents including EISs, EAs, and ERs in support of federally regulated/permitted projects
• Coordinate and consult with Federal and State Agencies and oversee environmental regulatory compliance evaluations
• Mentor and direct staff performing environmental studies, including wetlands delineations, cultural resource assessments, and T&E surveys
• Engage in public involvement/community outreach efforts
• Identify and pursue transportation planning and environmental projects
• Participate in the Bids & Proposals process, regional business development opportunities, and handling of key clients by generating leads, assessing new markets, and developing new business opportunities through established contacts and networking
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Planning, or a related discipline
• 10+ years of experience with environmental planning projects
• 5+ years of experience with project management including specific transportation NEPA projects
• Successful completion of transportation-related NEPA training
• Professional certification or license preferred
• Experience with the State and Federal Agencies, public outreach, and agency consultation strongly preferred
• Knowledge of federal environmental statutes and implementing regulations, including CWA, ESA, NHPA, etc.
• Excellent project management, leadership, technical writing, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong organizational, analytical, and strategic planning skills with attention to detail and a high quality of work
• Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, disciplines, and experts including senior management, clients, and other departments
• Ability to travel to support business needs
